Jordane

These masks have been developed during the artist residency programme at Prisma LX in Lisbon, Portugal. The inspiration comes from cosmetic surgery, beauty ideals, relics and elemnts of christianity. How can we transform ourselves on a spiritual level into something greater than a human being? How does the female face underlie the changes of fashion trends? The masks are meant to help you transit into another dimension.

Imagining crossing the holy river Jordan to dissolve our clothes and wash the face. The idea was to reverse the concepts: the body should be uncovered, while the face should be enhanced with fabrics. It the face that creates the garment.
