Karola Kaj is an artist, multidisciplinary creative, and educator working in and around the medium of fashion. Her work explores the human body as a space for philosophical and spiritual reflection, creating emotionally resonant objects and stories that invite deeper contemplation. She is particularly interested in what it means to have a body—how this experience might evolve in the future. Through her sensitivity to materials and craftsmanship, she seeks to evoke emotion and connection.

Karola holds a BA in Fashion Design from HEAD – Geneva, where she built a strong foundation in garment construction and design. Her experience with the wardrobe team at Cirque du Soleil deepened her understanding of the performative power of dress—how clothing can tell stories, shape characters, and move audiences. She later pursued postgraduate studies in contemporary jewelry at La Massana in Barcelona, where she began merging garment construction with jewelry-making and silversmithing, offering a more intimate and delicate perspective on the body. During this time, she also developed her own unique approach to working with silicone.

Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Art Direction at Elisava in Barcelona, further expanding her multidisciplinary practice. Karola is based between Barcelona and Switzerland.
