These masks have been developed during the artist residency programme at Prisma LX in Lisbon, Portugal.
The inspiration comes from cosmetic surgery, beauty ideals and relics How can we transform ithe body into something greater than a identity?
How does the face underlie the changes of fashion trends? Here, the masks becomes the site of transformation, they propose a passage into another condition. Like the crossing of the holy river Jordan —where the body is stripped of its layers, and the face is washed.
The logic of dressing is reversed: the body remains uncovered,while the face becomes the garment.
